Motivated by naming and dismantling the monsters in society, my work is rooted in sensory experiences that build through visual, sound, theory, and story as a game. I am inspired by naming the silence to deeply understand the fear that we all share. My work explores the intangible and unexplainable experiences of unjust treatment. The treatment that can not always be counted in data. Raised by horror stories, tales, and folktales, my art highlights modern stories of horror. My influences are horror films, oral history, science fiction, feminist/race theories, research, data, history, and nature.

As a Black queer woman, I investigate the fear and discomfort of identity and liberation by creating work that expands into futurism, Afro-pessimism, and extended realities in multiple media- including painting, ceramics, print, sound art, and storytelling.  As an interdisciplinary artist, my art practices focus on the accepted horror of labor exploitation, the intersectionality of gender, theory, and race, consumption, and what the body leaves behind.

I created Ombie Productions which is a creative production house that uses lens of horror and experimental art to tell stories and explain theories that focus on Afro-futurism, science fiction, and feminism. The mission is to create artwork and experiences on “what is” and “what could be”.
